New Publication: Pre-Raphaelite Poetry II

New Publication Pre-Raphaelite Poetry II

The Pre-Raphaelite Society has published a small book of poems drawn from the entrants to the second Pre-Raphaelite Society Poetry Prize. The poems included are inspired by Pre-Raphaelite paintings, poems and people, and represent the range of inspiration the Pre-Raphaelites provide for poets today. The book’s cover features a new painting by Joanna Gration, called Lizzie and Laura, which was the winner of the 2013 PRS Painting and Drawing Competition.

The book is available on http://www.lulu.com for £3.99 plus £2.99 p&p. Given rising postage costs, it is cheaper for you to buy it direct from lulu.com than for us to bulk buy copies and post them out. We hope you will enjoy the book.

Publication of Souvenir Issue of The PRS Review to celebrate 25 years of the Pre-Raphaelite Society – “Dante Gabriel Rossetti”

Dante Gabriel Rossetti Souvenir Ed

We are delighted to see the recent publication of our latest special edition of The Review, and with many colour illustrations, it contains six essays devoted to Dante Gabriel Rossetti plus a poem by Sarah Doyle. Our Editor, Serena Trowbridge, invited our seven contributors to look at Rossetti’s art, poetry and life, considering different aspects of each. This has resulted in an excellent collection of varied and interesting essays, with full colour images and at 76 pages, it is a superb tribute to one of the founding members of the PRB. See The Review section for essay and author details. Copies can be purchased at a cost of £5, including P&P for UK orders – please email the Treasurer using info@pre raphaelitesociety.org for further details.

Bequests and donations

The Pre Raphaelite Society has always been run on members’ subscription receipts and miscellaneous income. Occasionally, members kindly make donations to our funds, and the committee would, of course, like to encourage this practice. It would also be very helpful, in securing the Society’s financial future, if members considered making a bequest in their Wills.

To find out more about remembering the P.R.S. in your Will, or if you would like to make any form of donation to our funds, please contact the Treasurer, at the following address: Michael Wollaston, 18 Floyd Grove, Balsall Common, Coventry CV7 7RP or email: info@pre-raphaelitesociety.org.

Members can also make donations via PayPal – using either their own PayPal account, by debit/credit card as a PayPal guest, or by bank transfer. Please see the Membership page for further details.
